After so much inspiration from the works of Tsui Hark, I am in the midst of creating Golden Wars, a collection o' short stories from a rather folk fantasy-like alternate universe of ancient China - much influence drawn from their extremely beautiful and rich culture along with such grand tales in their lore.
Downside: I speak from the point of view of an uncultured swine who has barely skimmed the surface in her Chinese research; there is so much to learn, so much to delve into, so forgive me if things in this piece come off as... no. I look forward to learning more on all this epicness.
All characters in here are from different tales in the collection (aside from the vertical three in the foreground). PS: The title of this picture is what it is considering the main characters of these stories are pretty underestimated quirk folk.
I can't get over the guy hugging that lady oh my goodness his expression |DD It feels like it's been a while since we saw this yellow background from you, but you made a comeback with it excellently since it matches the theme of the drawing :'D Generally I love all of the gold included in the character designs, gives a huge feeling of royalty and mixed with the other colours, a good touch of eccentric!! And DAMN darling I love those mountains in the distance- they really feel like background material along with the fog
And whilst I'm at it, just wanted to say that I LOVE Watching you, every peice is a huge inspiration and I look forward to whenever you create something new. I love being aware of your art!
Research binging time. A nice call back to those traditional paintings and drawings. Like Kurokami said under me, seeing you tackling a calligraphic brush or pen would be interesting to see. Keep up the good work, Andi.~

Have you considered drawing them using calligraphy/Chinese brush painting? I bet it'd look epic!
